49-year-old Bernard "The Alien" Hopkins (55-6-2), already the oldest boxer in history to hold a world championship, is targeting the number three position in the pound for pound rankings. Hopkins regards Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the best fight in the world, and has no problem with Andre Ward being considered as the second best out there. And after Saturday night he sees himself as being deserving of getting in line for that third position.

Over the weekend, Hopkins became the oldest fighter to unify two world titles after dominating Beibut Shumenov over twelve rounds to combine the WBA/IBF world light heavyweight titles.

"The pound-for-pound best fighter in the world right now is Floyd 'Money' Mayweather," Hopkins said. "I'll tell you, behind Andre Ward, who I believe is second and should be, I'm not that far from the top three. My age and the way I'm doing it. I'm just telling you, I'm not done yet."

Hopkins is looking to face the winner of next month's fight between WBC champion Adonis Stevenson and Andrzej Fonfara.
