Bernard Hopkins Won't Engage Rumors of Golden Boy Rift

By Bill "Two Scoops" Emes

Widespread rumors continue to circulate within the industry, regarding potential friction between Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, and Golden Boy owner/ company President Oscar De La Hoya.

IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins, a partner in Golden Boy Promotions, will not entertain any discussion regarding the matter. In most cases, it's hard to stop Hopkins from voicing his opinions, but on this particular subject the veteran is strictly keeping his focus on the upcoming Showtime televised unification with WBA champion Beibut Shumenov on April 19th.

"I can't talk about that. I can't comment on that. No comment. I can't talk about that..because I'm in training camp. I'm focused on my fight," Hopkins told BoxingScene.com.
