The long awaited heavyweight fight between WBC champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21KOs) and mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32KOs) may finally take place on a date in January of 2015. The negotiations have been long and hard, with both sides being unable to reach a deal for a fight in time to stage it this year.

But now promoters Don King and Golden Boy Promotions have come to terms, with both boxers on board, and ESPN Deportes is reporting a working date of January 17th at a venue to be determined.

Stiverne was crowned in May of this year by knocking out Chris Arreola in six rounds and has yet to make a defense of the belt. Wilder became the mandatory challenger in March, when he knocked out Malik Scott in one round, and the returned in August to stop Jason Gavern in four.
