Berchelt, Ramirez, Finney, Williams Win in Las Vegas

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Super lightweight Miguel Berchelt (17-0, 14KOs) stopped an overmatched Carlos Claudio (15-10-3, 8KOs) in the first round. Berchelt took the fight to Claudio and overwhelmed him with power shot combinations until the fight was stopped.
Olympian Jose Ramirez (2-0, 2KOs) knocked out Charlie Dubray (1-1, 1KO). Dubray came out wild and was dropped by a grazing shot in the first minute. Ramirez then started unloading and then landed a hook to the body to place Dubray on the mat for the full count.
Super bantamweight Tramaine Williams (6-0, 2KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over John Herrera (4-6-1, 2KOs). All three judges saw it 40-36.
Welterweight Michael Finney (11-0, 9KOs) stopped Osvado Rojas (7-3-2, 2KOs) in the fifth round of action.
Heavyweight Brett Rather (3-0, 0KO) won a four round unanimous decision over Juan Guajardo (2-1, 1KO). Rather was dropped in the first and took a bit of punishment. He was able to outwork his opponent in the next three rounds for a close decision win. All three judges saw it 38-37 for Rather.
Welterweight Juan Heraldez (5-0, 4KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Roberto Lopez (4-5-2, 1KO). Lopez was down in the second and all three judges saw it 40-35 in favor of Heraldez.
Junior welterweight prospect Manuel Lopez (2-0, 2KOs) dominated and easily stopped local boxer Jason Tresvan (0-2) in the second round of action when referee Kenny Bayless jumped in to stop the one-sided pounding.
Saw Berchelt live in MX last year when he ko'd Oliver Flores...he has all the tools needed 2 go forward...IMO he needs more xposure, which last nite was, & better competition than he gets in MX & Merida, where's he's…Post a Comment - View More User Comments (1)
