On Monday at the World Boxing Association headquarters, Caribe Promotions won the purse bid to promote the championship bout between the WBA World cruiserweight champion Beibut Shumenov (17-2, 11 KOs), from Las Vegas, Nevada, by way of Shymkent, Kazakhstan, and interim WBA World cruiserweight champion Yunier Dorticós (21- 0, 20 KOs), from Miami, Florida, by way of Havana, Cuba.

The proposed dates for this fight are February 4 in Houston or Las Vegas, or February 11 in Miami.

IN OTHER NEWS: Fresno, CA – NABF Junior Super welterweight Champion, Daniel “El Chapulin” Valdivia, (12-0, 9 KOs) of Tulare, CA has been added as the Co-Main Event for  “The Fight For Water 6” December 2nd, at the Savemart Center in Fresno, CA and LIVE on Solo Boxeo Unimas at 11:00 p.m.

The previous card at the Save Mart Center was December 5th last year, headlined WBC Continental Americas Champion, Jose Ramirez Jr. and was a sell out at 13,100 with 1,600 turned away.
