On Monday at the World Boxing Association headquarters, Caribe Promotions won the purse bid to promote the championship bout between the WBA World cruiserweight champion Beibut Shumenov (17-2, 11 KOs), from Las Vegas, Nevada, by way of Shymkent, Kazakhstan, and interim WBA World cruiserweight champion Yunier Dorticós (21- 0, 20 KOs), from Miami, Florida, by way of Havana, Cuba.
The proposed dates for this fight are February 4 in Houston or Las Vegas, or February 11 in Miami.
For Caribbean Promotions, Dorticós’ representatives, Luis Fonseca and Tony Gonzalez, were present at the purse bid, while Shumenov was represented by Zach Margules of TGB Promotion.
