Barros: I'm Confident That I Beat Celestino Caballero

By Jhonny Gonzalez

Argentina's Jonathan Barros is upset with the controversy surrounding his recent split decision win over mandatory challenger Celestino Caballero, which allowed him to retain his featherweight world title of World Boxing Association. The bout was held last weekend in Argentina's Mendoza province. Barros appeared on the radio in Argentina and said he was sure that he beat Caballero once and said he was ready to beat him again.

"I don't agree with those who feel the decision was controversial. I'm calm because I saw the fight from start to finish and I have no doubt that I was the winner. I think he never came convinced that he would snatch the belt. Although I was the champion, I  looked at myself as the challenger. I was surprised because he is a warrior, but he wouldn't fight. My punches hurt him and he got tired quickly. I made a lot of mistakes. I have no problems with a rematch. I have many resources and I'm growing every day. He has nothing more to give," Barros said.
