Things are not getting any easier for former champion Jorge "The Hyena" Barrios. Reports in Buenos Aires indicate that Barrios' ex-wife filed a complaint with the local police, alleging that he beat his 17-year-old son, Mauro Barrios.  Alejandra Ponce alleges that Barrios and other family members beat her son and then threats were made for her to keep quiet.

"They hit him everywhere. Disfigured his face and when I found out what had happened, Rodrigo (Jorge Barrios) threatened me and said he would kill me," Ponce said.

Last week, a judge issued a ruling that blocked Barrios from being tried for the wrongful death of a young pregnant woman, although the decision was based on technical errors and does not imply that Barrios will not go to trial once the errors are fixed.

The boxer was charged with manslaughter in connection to the death of Jamie Morales, 20 years old, which came after Barrios was speeding and lost control of his vehicle on January 24 in Mar del Plata, 400 kilometers south of Buenos Aires.
