Former three division champion Marco Antonio Barrera is on board to fight Erik 'Terrible' Morales for a fourth time. According to Barrera, he was approached by Golden Boy Promotions Promotions Oscar De La Hoya, who wanted to inquire if Barrera was interested in such a fight. Barrera told De La Hoya that he was very interested. The tentative date would be July 30 on pay-per-view. Barrera has a 2-1 edge in the trilogy with Morales.

"I spoke to him in the afternoon and I was asked if I was willing to fight Morales for a fourth time and I said 'yes.' It is a fight that catches my attention. My relationship with Zanfer is based on a verbal deal and I told them that if I got an offer for a big fight, that I would take it, and that was our agreement. I would like to fight by August, but first we have to see what the offer is," said Barrera to Sal Rodriguez.

Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy, stated in a recent BoxingScene.com interview, that a fourth meeting between Morales and Barrera was certainly a possible fight for the summer. Morales won the first meeting in 2000, but Barrera won the next two fights in 2002 and 2004.

Okay, I'm starting to feel Barrera. September 16th is Mexican Independence Day as that would be the Friday's weigh in for this nostalgic fight b/w two of Mexico's greatest warriors of all time. Saturday is the fight which will be a loaded gate in Vegas and do great PPV numbers as fans (both die h...

I must confess: There are worse fights that could could be made. Prior to Erik beating Maidana on the fans scorecards, I would have denied that neither Barrera nor Morales could compete on a large stage in 2011. But this year has already produced some amazing contests. There is something ma...

barrera is my favourite fighter of ALL time, and it pains me for what im about to write, but i would be very dissapointed if he fights morales for a 4th time, this will tarnish there trilogy in my opinion. if im honest, i want barrera to retire, he is not the same fighter he once was and is sh...
