Badou Jack: I Wont Make The Same Mistakes This Time

By Ryan Burton

On Saturday evening super middleweight contender Badou Jack (16-1-1) will look to get back in the win column when he faces Jason Escalera (15-2-1) on the latest edition of Showtime's prospect series ShoBox. Jack last fought in February when he was shockingly stopped by Dereck Edwards in one round.

Jack said that he immediately returned to the gym after the loss and that he plans on getting back to his winning ways.

"I am very excited (to be getting back in the ring).  I have been in the gym since my last fight.  I am in great shape and excited to get in there and get that 'W'," Jack stated.

Jack chalked up his surprising loss to Edwards as a learning experience.  He said that after a couple more fights he hopes to get an opportunity to fight for a title.

"On Saturday night you are going to see a smarter version of Badou Jack. I think that after this fight I will need one or two more fights and then I will be ready for a title fight.  I have to win this one first though and look good and then we will see where we are at," Jack told BoxingScene.com.
