Aydin vs. Postol Eliminator For Danny Garcia Title Shot
By Miguel Rivera
The World Boxing Council has ordered a junior welterweight final eliminator between Selcuk Aydin (26-2, 19KOs) of Turkey and Viktor Postol (24-0, 10KOs) of Ukraine. The winner would become the mandatory challenger to current champion Danny Garcia.
Aydin had been a welterweight for most of his career, but back to back defeats, to Robert Guerrero and Jesus Soto Karass, made the Turkish boxer rethink his career strategy and he moved down to junior welterweight in January. He won three straight at 140-pounds and holds the WBC Mediterranean title.
Postol fought in Ukraine for the majority of his career. He did make his American debut in December 2012, scoring a first round stoppage in Inglewood, California. Last October he defeated former champion DeMarcus Corley and in March of this year he won a twelve round decision over Hank Lundy to capture the vacant WBC International title.

Looks like Danny is going to have a couple of mandatorys at 140 unless he moves up. Aydin sucks, Postol will outbox him for a boring 12 round decision.Comment by Hougigo on 11-07-2013

Bit of a step backwards for Garcia, but I wouldn't mind him facing Aydin (if he beats this Postol guy). Good scrap. Is Aydin still trained by Booth, btw?Comment by torosboxing75 on 11-07-2013
