Atwell is Training Hard To Knock Off Jhonny Gonzalez

Undefeated Clive "Punisher" Atwell is focused on the biggest fight of his career when he faces WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez on May 24 in Acapulco, Mexico. In accordance with the magnitude of the impending challenge, Atwell has already been training in “The Big Apple” for two months, preparing for the challenge of a career.

“I know Gonzalez is a great. I've  always dreamed of conquering the world title from such a champion and this is my chance to make my dream come true. That’s precisely why I’m working incredibly hard in New York. I’m currently sparring with Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters,” said Clive.

Jhonny (55-8, 47 KO’s), who's guided and prepared by legendary Trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain, will be making the first defense of the title he reclaimed last August with a first round TKO of Abner Mares. Atwell (12-0-1, 7 KOs), although unbeaten, has never faced anyone on Gonzalez's level.
