Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is happy to once again be working side by side with Golden Boy Promotions. For years, the two companies were at odds and the industry called it the 'Cold War.'

The 'Cold War' began to melt when Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer left the company. Golden Boy President Oscar De La Hoya took charge, reestablishing a relationship with Arum and HBO, where the majority of Top Rank's fighters are found.

The two companies have already put together two matches - Mauricio Herrera vs. Jose Benavidez on an HBO date of December 13th and Juan Carlos Abregu vs. Sadam Ali for an HBO date of November 8th.

"[Golden Boy VP] Eric [Gomez] and Oscar are good boxing people. They talk with our boxing people and we make fights. [Herrera-Benavidez] is really the second one we've done now in the last few months. The first one will be on November 8th, when Abregu faces Sadam Ali on the Hopkins-Kovalev card, and now Herrera facing Benavidez on the Tim Bradley card. And that's great. That's the way boxing always was. That's how [Don] King and I always operated. Nothing stopped us from putting fights together. It was only one guy who prevented [the two companies from working together] and that was Schaefer," Arum told BoxingScene.com.
