MGM Grand Hotel & Casino - When the Los Angeles press conference to announce Mayweather-Pacquiao took place in March, Mayweather Promotions and Pacquiao's promoter Top Rank Inc. were all smiles as they announced the richest fight in boxing history.
The harmony didn't last long as tickets for the mega-fight didn't go on sale until last week. The tickets didn't go on sale until less than two weeks before fight night because of a dispute on how the tickets were going to be allocated between the two promotional companies and the host hotel, the MGM Grand.
The animosity between the rival promoters makes the thought of a potential rematch seem very unlikely. Despite those differences, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum refused to rule out a potential rematch.
"You never say never. I don't know what tomorrow will bring. I know what tomorrow will bring for us -because after this fight when Manny wins we will be on a plane to Manila for the biggest victory parade in the history of the Philippines," Arum told BoxingScene.com.
