New York, New York - Top Rank's Bob Arum has promoted some of the biggest names in the history of boxing. So when he gets excited over a fighter like he did after Vasyl Lomachenko knocked out Roman Martinez on Saturday, the media took notice.

“HBO gave him the opportunity,” Arum said. “It’s a great premium network so whatever the budgetary restraint, they’ll find money for a superstar in the making like Lomachenko. This kid is special. We haven’t seen the likes of him ever. He’s got balance and distance and he’s beginning to figure it out.”

Arum wants to line up Lomachenko with the best 130 pounders even if it comes at his own expense by putting the fight on HBO.

“It’s going to cost me money,” stated Arum. “There’s Salido and Vargas and Nicholas Walters, let’s not forget about him. Lomachenko versus the Japanese kid. We want to make all those fights”

“If HBO doesn’t have the money, then I’ll go to my pockets and put fights on pay-per-view like Crawford and Postol. I won’t stunt my fighter’s development because of a networks budgetary issues.”

Arum would even match Lomachenko with fighters from the Al Haymon stable. The two have settled a suit and according to Arum are in talks of staging fights together”

“100 percent we would fight Haymon guys, but I’m not sure guys like Leo Santa Cruz and Carl Frampton are fighting at 130 lbs.”
