Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is not backing away from applying the pressure on Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fight Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
On Saturday, Showtime Sports Head Stephen Espinoza denied Arum's claim that Mayweather is holding up the finalization of the fight. Arum says Mayweather is refusing to green light the terms. Espinoza claims the parties have not yet reached an agreement on the terms.
According to Arum, Mayweather is hesitant to fight a southpaw and now his team is looking for someone to blame when the Pacquiao fight falls through.
"He doesn't want to fight southpaws. The worst possible opponent for him is Pacquiao. He's afraid to lose. Now they need to look for a scapegoat," Arum said to The Denver Post.
