| Arum: Marquez-Peterson Could Draw 40,000 To Cowboys

By Salvador Rodriguez Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, predicts that a proposed fight between Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6-1, 39KOs) and WBA/IBF junior welterweight champion Lamont Peterson (30-1, 15KOs) could draw up to 40,000 fans to Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Arum is trying to finalize a Marquez-Peterson fight for July 14th. "Juan Manuel against Lamont would be a great fight. What the promoters believe, is that it might get up to 40,000 people, but the trick is to make [the tickets] affordable," Arum said. Negotiations are ongoing and Arum hopes to complete a deal. As part of the agreement, Arum still wants to stage a March 17th doubleheader in Mexico City, which is going to feature Marquez and Peterson in separate bouts to build their July clash. there goes arum with this build up ****.if either peterson or marquez fight somebody else then they won't fight each other because something is going to go wrong. this fight in cowboys stadium won't happen unless they go right into it. |
