Reliant Arena, Houston, Texas - Top Rank CEO Bob Arum took a small jab at Golden Boy Promotions head honcho Oscar De La Hoya after Julio Chavez Jr. knocked out Peter Manfredo in a fight televised by HBO. When asked about a potential fight between Chavez and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Arum said that the 6 division world champion spends more time social networking than promoting.

"Look I don't want to take a shot at Oscar but he spends more time Tweeting than promoting," stated a smiling Arum. "That fight is one possiblity among several that we have. Julio is going to enjoy Christmas and New Years then we will talk about it."

Arum went on to say that he is far more interested in pitting his fighter against De La Hoya than versus Alvarez. A Chavez-De La Hoya fight would be huge considering that De La Hoya defeated Chavez's father twice when the elder Chavez was nearing the end of his career.

"I would rather make a fight between Chavez and De La Hoya. That would be a huge fight given that Oscar beat Chavez Sr. twice when he was towards the end of his career. Now it is kind of reversed and I think Chavez Jr. would be very interested in fighting Oscar," said Arum.

Oscar knows way too much in the right. Oscar looked as bad as he did against Pacquiao, because he was too dehydrated, too light, and his legs were dead. He was a sitting duck for target practice. Get Manny Steward in your corner, get Pacquiao's conditioning coach Ariza, and Oscar has a chance to ...

I knew from watching that documentary that JCC is a very bitter man and takes boxing more seriously than intended. It IS a serious sport but when you have him going, "Hey son, you see that guy? He beat me up when I was past my prime...now, I want YOU to kick his ass!" Come on Arum and company,...

This is stupid, how the hell can Arum even make these comments? He knows dam well DLH is retired and he should respect that. Chavez needs to man up and fight some real fighters and show that he is a true champion. His pops wasnt the best Mexican fighter either! You have guys like Sal Sanchez, Oli...
It's not that bad of a fight. Really it isn't...Again people dislike for one damn promoter is so strong that it clouds their judgement.
Ah..JROSALES you are making a very big assumption here that the people you're talking about, like 90% of the posters, have "judgement" ...
