Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has confirmed that WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia (32-0, 18KOs) is a frontrunner to face eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao in his comeback fight.

Garcia has been out of the ring since winning the vacant WBC championship with a decision win over Robert Guerrero in January. The belt became vacant last year after the September retirement of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Garcia is not alone in the running. Arum is also looking at WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas, and the winner of next Saturday's fight between junior welterweight champions Terence Crawford and Viktor Postol.

Arum says the winner of Crawford-Postol would likely be the top pick for the Pacquiao return - if the winner looks spectacular in the fight.

"Absolutely [we're looking at him]. I've said the three guys that are now being considered, would be the two welterweight champions, Danny Garcia an Jessie Vargas. Freddie thinks that Manny wants to go down to 140, which is his natural weight, and fight at that level, so the winner of Crawford-Postol, if the winner emerges like we think he will with all of the credentials - then the winner of that fight could be in the number one position," Arum told BoxingScene.com.

Another option - no longer being considered - was Adrien Broner, but those discussions fell apart after Broner asked for a high sum of money that Arum was unable to accommodate.
