The winner of tonight's rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito could become a leading contender to face WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Cotto and Margarito are fighting for the WBA's junior middleweight title in the main event of a stellar card at New York's Madison Square Garden in New York City.

A bigger fight for Chavez would be a Mexican super-match with WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Making the fight is difficult, with Alvarez's promoter, Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy, requesting a weight limit of 156-pounds. Chavez requested a max of 158.

"I think both of them (Cotto and Margarito) want that fight," said Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Chavez, Cotto and Margarito. "And I think we realize that we can't make the fight with Canelo because of the weight."

JC Chavez Sr. is one of if not my all time favorite fighters and while his son is a good fighter there is no way he can live up to the HYPE that surrounds him. For Arum and Golden Boy to even think that he's in the same class as Cotto or Margarito is just laughable. They are doing a terrible diss...

Cotto said that it's not the end of him and Arum together and that Arum will always be his promoter. I wasn't happy when he said this I hate arum[/QUOTE] ...

Cotto shouldn't fall for the trap, though I guess as a retirement fight which he should retire he could make some serious money and maybe not take it to seriously.
