Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is picking Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez to defeat Miguel Cotto for the WBC middleweight championship on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Arum had promoted Cotto for nearly his entire career, until their contract expired in December of 2011. They began doing business again in 2013 on a fight  by fight basis until Cotto signed a lucrative deal with Roc Nation Sports at the start of this year.

For the benefit of his growing career, Arum says Canelo must win this fight. The only defeat of his career, was when he stepped up heavily in class to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2013. He was easily outpointed over the twelve round distance.

Arum doesn't rule out the possibility of Cotto winning, because he has trainer Freddie Roach in his corner and also there is a big gap in experience between the two boxers.

"I like Canelo to win that fight because I think that he's fresher and meanwhile Cotto is already in the final stage of his career. And again, that's why I think Canelo must win that fight. Although, you never know, Cotto is a great fighter and the end result could go either way," Arum told ESPN Deportes.
