Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum supports Floyd Mayweather's decision to blow off an offer from UFC President Dana White for a boxing match with mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor.

White said he'd pay each fighter $25 million to meet. In addition toe, White said, each fighter would get a cut of pay-per-view proceeds.

"If they're going to box, Floyd looks at this as an easy boxing match for him," White said. "Conor McGregor is his money fight. Tell you what, Floyd, here's a real offer, and I'm the guy who can make the offer. We'll pay you $25 million and Conor $25 million."

Mayweather, who retired in September of 2015 with a perfect 49-0 record, told ESPN's First Take program that a McGregor bout was the only thing that could tempt him to end his exile from the ring.

When advised of White's offer, Mayweather called him a "f***ing comedian."

"They know what my number is. My number is a guaranteed $100 million," Mayweather said.

Arum, who promoted Mayweather for close to a decade, says the retired fighter could come back to the ring tomorrow and fight several boxers for more than $25 million, and points out that Mayweather's six fight deal with Showtime guaranteed him more than $30 million a fight.

"Floyd can fight a lot of fights with a lot of fighters for more than $25 million. And when he had the contract with Showtime, he made over $30 million a fight," Arum told TMZ Sports.

Arum also feels that McGregor, despite securing a license to box from the state of California, has no business in a boxing ring - especially with someone like Mayweather.

"Listen, Conor McGregor is not a boxer. If they box under the boxer rules with regular gloves, a novice will beat him because he has no experience in boxing. It's just talk and it's absolute nonsense," Arum said.
