BoxingScene.com has been informed that unbeaten light heavyweight contender Artur Beterbiev (7-0, 7KOs) is deep in discussions with adviser/manager Al Haymon. Everything appears positive, with sources indicating the negotiations are "in the final stage."
Beterbiev, one of the hottest rising prospects in the sport, is scheduled to return on Saturday night in a co-featured attraction against former WBA champion Gabriel Campillo at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec, City. The main event features Adonis Stevenson defending his WBC light heavyweight title against Sakio Bika. Stevenson, Bika and Campillo are part of Haymon's voluminous stable.
Both of those fights will be televised on CBS as part of Haymon's "Premier Boxing Champions" (PBC) series. Haymon has television deals in place with Showtime/CBS, ABC/ESPN, NBC/NBC Sports, Spike TV and Bounce TV.
Beterbiev is managed by Anna Riva and promoted by Yvon Michel of GYM (who also promotes Stevenson).
Earlier this year, Haymon signed up Canadian superstar Lucian Bute, who also competes at light heavyweight.
