Polis heavyweight giant Mariusz Wach (31-1, 17 KOs) believes Alexander Powietkin (29-1, 21 KOs) is more experienced, changed his fighting style, and now stands a better chance of unseating the heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs).
Povetkin challenged Klitschko two years ago and was dominated over the twelve round contest. He was dropped several times, yet he continued to rise and fight on.
Since that loss, Povetkin made changes to his entire team and became a lot more aggressive with his punches. Povetkin has since won three in a row, against formidable opposition, and knocked all three opponents out in brutal fashion.
Wach himself faced Klitschko in 2012 and was also dominated over the twelve round distance. Wach has since won four in a row.
On November 4 in Kazan, Russia Wach and Povetkin will trade punches in a high stakes contest for the WBC silver title and mandatory position to champion Deontay Wilder.
"I think that today [Povetkin] would have a better chance. He changed his style, his entire frame looks better, he's become more athletic. But on the fourth day of November, however, I'm going to do everything possible to make sure that in the near future a rematch between Klitschko and Povetkin will not happen," said Wach.
