Respected manager Gary Gittlesohn had been working feverishly to get a fight for former two-division titlist Brian Viloria to kick of his 2015, who is in line for another championship opportunity. It looks he has finally nailed something down.
Gittlesohn told BoxingScene.com,"We've been looking forward to getting Brian back on the horse and it looks like he's going to be - and it's confirmed (with Bob Arum) - on the July 18th Macao card. As of yet, we don't have an opponent but we're going to be getting one shortly."
Also reportedly on this show will be Nonito Donaire.
Viloria last fought on December 6th, where he halted Armando Vasquez in four rounds in Glendale, California.
After this fight, 'the Hawaiian Punch' wants to go big game hunting in the flyweight division.
"We'd love to be able to get 'Chocolatito' (Roman Gonzalez) before the end of the year," said Gittlesohn.
Gonzalez, who holds the WBC 112-pound title fights on May 16th at the Forum in Los Angeles against veteran Edgar Sosa.
