Former light heavyweight kingpin Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver (31-6-1) is still campaigning for a world title shot in the heavyweight division.
He last appeared in the ring in August when he fought former cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham to a controversial draw in their non-title heavyweight bout.
Tarver said he has no problems facing Cunningham again but says that he has bigger fish to fry.
"I will fight Cunningham again but will he fight me? I shouldn't be in the ring with Cunningham. I should be in the ring with champions like me. My name should be on the marquee on the side of other champions. I am tired of giving these guys chances of a lifetime when I can't get a chance of a lifetime. I want (Deontay) Wilder and Tyson Fury. Let me go out like the other great champions before me. What's the problem? I earned mine, was a decorated amateur. I want a shot at the heavyweight title. I am undefeated as a heavyweight. I haven't lost since '09," Tarver explained.
When asked what he thought of Tyson Fury's title winning performance in upsetting heavy betting favorite Wladimir Kltischko, Tarver said he was less than impressed.
"Come on man. I could have whooped both of them on the same night as sorry as they looked. Tyson Fury, I respect him. He did what he had to do but I want a shot. I want a shot at the heavyweight title. I am not going anywhere till somebody beats me," Tarver told BoxingScene.com.
