Mexico's former world champion Orlando "Siri" Salido is confident that he will regain the world super featherweight belt of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) when he faces Puerto Rico's Roman "Rocky" Martinez on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The fight will be part of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Andre Berto Showtime Pay-Per-View undercard.
Martinez captured the belt from Salido in a twelve round war back on April 11th in Puerto Rico.
Salido, a native of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, is already in Las Vegas where he will participate in promotional events. "Siri" trained for several months in Ciudad Obregon, determined to regain the title in what is expected to be a real war in the ring.
Salido (42-13-2, 29 KOs), two-time world champion and part of a Fight of The Year candidate with Thai Tersdak Kokietgym in 2014, hopes to make more headlines with the action he plans to generate against Martinez (29-2-2, 17 KOs).
"I will do everything possible to get the win and look for the knockout. Rocky is courageous, he likes to come forward like me, he throws a lot of punches and is brave, and it will be a war," Salido said.
