Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. believes WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (31-1, 20KOs) should target the chin of WBA king Guillermo Rigondeaux (11-0, 8KOs). The two boxers collide later tonight in a unification encounter at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Jones has a lot of respect for Rigondeaux, a two-time Olympic gold medal winner and regarded as one of the best amateur fighters of all-time. But, Jones views Rigo's chin as his main weakness. He does warn Donaire about the danger of getting caught himself, because Rigondeaux can pack a punch.
"For Donaire it's simple, take the fight past round four and go for the chin. In the first four rounds, go for the chin too because he has been down by much lesser opponents. So if lesser opponents have had him down, you may hit him and he may not get up. If you get him in trouble and get him down, you have to keep him down and get him out because he is, technically, the best fighter that you will ever fight. When it comes to taking a punch he is not the same guy but when it comes to giving one he is - he's a beast," Jones told BoxingScene.com.
