Former world champion Ricardo Mayorga (30-8-1, 24KOs) has announced his intentions to fight on December 20 in Managua. Mayorga's return will be on a card organized by Bufalo Boxing at the port "Salvador Allende." Mayorga was confirmed by Rosendo Alvarez, who along with wife Ruth Rodríguez, is putting the card together. Mayorga takes on Mexican middleweight Andrik Saralegui (7-1, 5KOs).
"It is confirmed, Mayorga fight that night against a Mexican opponent," said Rosendo. "He face Mexican Andrik Saralegui, who said he was a great admirer of Mayorga, but that night he will come to beat him. Saralegui said Mayorga is his idol, but in this fight he will not respect him. He will go after him to win, to get that distinction to beat a two-time world champion."
In his last fight in December of last year, Saralegui knocked out Francisco Flores in the first round of a fight that marked his return to ring after seven years of inactivity. In the case of Mayorga, he returned to the ring in September, knocking out Allen Medina in the first round after over three years of being away from boxing.
