Marco "Dorado" Reyes (20-1, 13 KOs) will be trained by Hall of Fame coach Nacho Beristain for his upcoming fight with Julio Chavez Jr. (33-2, 24 KOs). The Showtime televised fight will happen on July 18th, possibly in El Paso, Texas.
Chavez Jr. is returning just three months after losing, by way of knockout in nine rounds, in a dangerous fight with light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. It was Chavez's debut with Showtime and manager Al Haymon.
The fight with Reyes will take place at a maximum weight of 168 pounds. Chavez will be trained by new coach Robert Garcia for the contest.
"I think Dorado has a chance, if he trains well, if he prepares well he can win. It's a guy I know well, he trained with me before, he's a good prospect. I think he can win, especially if Julio doesn't train well - he can have a real problem," Nacho told ESPN Deportes.
