WBO super featherweight champion Orlando "Siri" Salido of Mexico is confident he can match his victories in 2011 and 2012, when he traveled to Puerto Rico and knocked out local star Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez in two very exciting battles. On April 11th, Salido will head back to Puerto Rico to trade punches with former champion Roman "Rocky' Martinez.
This is the fourth visit to a Puerto Rican ring for Salido (42-12-2, 29 KOs), who remains undefeated against all comers. Martinez (28-2-2, 17 KOs) wants to change that streak at Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.
"I'm not afraid to go Puerto Rico. When I step into the ring, I do think I am at home. When I'm in the ring I'm blind to everything. That is the concentration one must have when they climb into a ring. I'm always very focused when I go into a fight," Salido said.
"I think 'Rocky' is a great fighter, it will be difficult but not impossible to win there. We worked well with the idea of doing a good preparation to help us get the win. It will be a difficult fight. We are aware that it will be a fight from start to finish due to our styles. It will be a war. The public will be the ones to gain from what we provide in this fight. If we come out with this fight, fights with bigger opponents will come."
