IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez is a very interested party in the upcoming fight between Antonio DeMarco and Adrien Broner, taking place on November 17th at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Broner (24-0, 20KOs) is moving up in weight to challenge DeMarco (28-2-1, 21KOs) for the WBC lightweight title. Vazquez thinks it's a 50-50 fight where each boxer is very capable of securing the victory.
"I feel that's a great fight. It can go either way. You have the power of DeMarco and the boxing skills of Broner. The winner will depend on who exercises their game plan better. But like I said, that fight can go either way," Vazquez told BoxingScene.com.
Vazquez defends his title against Mercito Gesta on the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez undercard on December 8th. If he beats Gesta, and Broner beats DeMarco, Vazquez would like to have a unification fight in early 2013.
"I want the big fights and the big names, so I would love to fight Adrien Broner. [If he beats DeMarco], I would fight him," Vazquez said.
