Earlier this week, Golden Boy Promotions won the the purse bid for the bout between David Lemieux and Hassan N'Dam for the vacant IBF middleweight title.
But there is a lawsuit that hangs over Lemiuex's head from his former promoter. That promoter would be GYM, led by Yvon Michel.
Michel reminded BoxingScene.com - "We are in litigation, we are going against Lemieux, his manager - Camille Estehpane - Eye of the Tiger Management, Golden Boy and HBO."
However, this will not stop the Lemieux-N'Dam fight from taking place. Back in January, Lemieux signed a promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions.
"We have agreed to send a letter to Estephane and Lemieux's people," explained Michel, who promotes WBC light heavyweight titlist, Adonis Stevenson.
"Our goal is to not get an injuction to stop the fight from happening. To the contrary, we are seeking damages. We are not looking anymore to have our contract be validated. We are not interested in having David Lemieux back on our team as long as he's with Camille Estephane."
As for as Michel is concerned, Lemieux winning the title would be the ideal scenario.
"We are seeking damages, the more he makes the better it will be for us."
