Klara Svensson (14-0, 5 KOs) can enter 2015 with 15 victories if she defeats Lucia Morelli (18-4, 8 KOs) at the Falconer Hall at the Radisson Blu in Copenhagen on November 29.
“I have big plans for next year and Morelli is not going to stand in my way,’’ said the ‘Swedish Princess’, ahead of her interim WBC World Light Welterweight title defence.
“I want to keep my record list clean and enter 2015 with victory number fifteen. 15 seems to be the magic number.
“In 2015 I want to challenge the best in my division and right now the best are all Argentinians. So next year, it will be me against Argentina!”
Svensson claimed the interim WBC title with a career best performance against Marie Riederer in September in Copenhagen.
“Winning the belt was a big step forward in my career. Mentally it’s a big thing to own a belt, and I intend to keep it until I can get my hands on a belt that makes me the undisputed champion.
“I’m looking forward to fighting Morelli, because I think it will be an entertaining fight, fun to watch. Remember, I have got what Morelli wants and she will do anything to take that away from me.
“Morelli is a good boxer, a good challenge. She will be attacking from the very beginning, but I am very well prepared to handle her style. I have a game plan that will ensure I win.”
Pound-for-pound queen Cecilia Brækhus will also be in action at the Falconer Hall on Saturday, November 29. The Norwegian superstar will defend her WBC, WBO, WBA & IBF Female World Welterweight titles against Jennifer Retzke.
