WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (25-1, 17 KOs) is expecting a very physical fight on July 23 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Khan faces IBF champion Zab Judah (41-6, 28 KOs) in a unification bout. Khan's last fight, a six round technical decision over Paul McCloskey, was missing those fireworks, but Amir doesn't expect the same result in July.
"Paul McCloskey didn't want to fight. He was very defensive. Zab Judah is a ballsy fighter and he likes to come and fight. The experience that I had from the last fight and training camp is just going to help me for this fight. I'll be ready for whatever Zab Judah brings," Khan told PrimeTime.
From the sound of the first bell, Khan expects the two of them to start throwing big punches. Khan wants to stage a war and create some excitement to extinguish the scent of his last fight.
"It's going to be a war, even if it finishes in the first round or the tweflth round. It's going to be a war from the first bell. I'm taking a step back and I hope Judah doesn't take a step back. If he wants to fight, I'm here to fight," Khan said.
