WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan is aiming to prove that he's better than his division rival, WBC/WBO king Timothy Bradley. Khand wants to make a statement against Paul McCloskey on April 16 at Manchester's MEN Arena. Khan wants the HBO viewers to watch him do a better job with McCloskey than Bradley did with Devon Alexander in January.
"I want to prove to everyone how good Amir Khan is," Khan told BBC Sport. "Not only in England, but all over the world. So I want to beat McCloskey in better fashion than Bradley beat Devon Alexander. I'm one step ahead of Bradley, even though he's rated one higher than me [by The Ring magazine] and he's unbeaten. That would be a good fight in the future, but first of all I've got McCloskey to take care of and I'm very focused on him."
If Khan wins in two weeks, a unification showdown with Bradley is possible for July 23.
