Former champion Mikkel Kessler (46-3, 35KOs), 35-years-old, is ready to return to the ring - but he wants a big fight upon returning.
Kessler has two targets in mind - IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch and WBA 'super' champion Andre Ward.
Kessler defeated Froch in a very exciting fight in April of 2010 in Denmark. Froch got revenge in 2013, winning a twelve round decision in their London rematch.
Ward stunned Kessler in 2009, winning a eleven technical decision after an early ending to the fight after the Danish star suffered several cuts due to head clashes.
"I want to return to the ring as soon as possible. - We've been trying to organize a fight since May. I want to make a fight with Carl Froch and Andre Ward, but making [a fight with either] has been very difficult. I want to fight the best. I am in great shape. Yes, I had a year of inactivity, I was engaged in family affairs. Moreover, I always stay in shape and now I am ready to return to boxing. Unfortunately, we do not know exactly when I'll get back in the ring," Kessler told Sportbox.
When asked if there was one fight in particular that he considered a priority, Kessler stated two words - "Carl Froch."
