Heavyweight hopeful Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller (16-0-1, 14 KO's) will be facing Nick Guivas on May 27th from the Seneca Niagra Resort and Casino from Niagra Falls, New York, on a card that will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
"We know Guivas is a pretty durable guy. We know he's coming to fight," said Miller's manager, Steve Nelson.
"In our eyes we anticipate Jarrell to look very motivated, a Jarrell who's looking to increase his stature in the boxing world. Even though it's a bit of a test for him at this time, we expect him to continue on with the knockout train.
In his last outing back on January 22nd, he stopped Donovan Dennis in seven rounds.
The plan is to keep the personable and talkative Miller active in 2016.
"We are clsoe to finalizing a deal to continue the development of Jarrell Miller by having him fight in Rochester, New York( in the summer). We have been having positive talks with backers and we should know very, very soon if this is coming to fruition,"explained Nelson, who once managed heavyweight champion, Hasim Rahman ."But right now all signs are positive and after that we're going to really make the big move."
And they have a particular target in mind.
"Hopefully we can get Bermane Stiverne to step up to the plate to fight him,"said Nelson, who's fighter recently had a run-in with Stiverne at a gym in Florida. "There's a little tension between the two and we'd like to end the tension the right way and knock Stiverne out."
