BoxingScene.com had been advised that hot middleweight prospect Ievgen Khytrov (8-0, 8KOs) has inked an agreement with powerful adviser/manager Al Haymon. The boxer is promoted by Lou DiBella and Max Alperovich of Fight Promotions.
Haymon, who has over 150 fighters under contract, is stocking up on his Eastern European talent. Among his army of acquisitions in 2014, he signed Ivan Redkach and Sergiy Derevyanchenko.
Khytrov is viewed as something special. He was a highly regarded amateur, winning the gold medal at middleweight in the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Baku, and he was crowned the 2011 Ukrainian Nationals champion, won the Boxing European Cup and he was European Juniors Boxing Championships winner.
He turned pro in December 2013 and stopped every opponent within five rounds. Khytrov was last seen in action on January 9th, stopping fellow unbeaten Maurice Louishome in a ShoBox televised fight.
The 26-year-old Ukrainian is hoping to get a lot more exposure with Haymon, who in the last two weeks has announced exclusive deals to provide boxing content to NBC and Spike TV. Haymon also works closely with Showtime.
