Stuart Hall’s promoter, Dennis Hobson informed Boxing Scene just moments ago that the British bantamweight will get a chance to win back his IBF world title when he fights Randy Caballero (21-0, 13 KOs) for the vacant strap, possibly in September.
Paul Butler, who earlier last month beat Hall (16-3-2, 7KOs) by 12-round decision to win the title, recently decided to relinquish his first world title and move back down to his more natural home of super flyweight in an attempt to win more world honours.
Hobson, who has proved time after time that he’s more than capable of getting his fighters world title opportunities, was quick to lobby the IBF who sanctioned this fight earlier today.
“It’s just been sanctioned by the IBF this afternoon. The IBF have been confirmed it,” Hobson revealed.
“I think it happens September time, I think it’ll happen quickly. Stuart wants his title back, he weren’t banged up in the Butler fight so straight back in and let’s go for it.”
Hobson told ‘Scene that the venue had still to be decided upon.
“I’m not sure, I’m going to talk to Boxnation (who broadcasted Hall v Butler) and see what they’ve got on, I’m going to negotiate with the Americans (Golden Boy Promotions). I spoke to Stuart and he said wherever it is he just wants to go and get his title back. Wherever it is we’ll make it happen.
