Eddie Hearn is not looking to sign any more female fighters.
The Matchroom chief held talks with double Olympic champion Nicola Adams about the possibility of her turning over under him.
But the 34-year-old, from Leeds, is no longer on Hearn’s radar as he looks to focus on what he already has at his disposal.
“We held talks with Nicola Adams,” he told iFL TV, “but we’re not looking to go into women’s boxing.”
Hearn signed Irish star Katie Taylor in October and she has made a flawless start to life in the pro game since winning five world titles, six European titles and Olympic gold at the London 2012 games as an amateur, racing to 2-0 (1 KO) after two fights in two weeks.
But he insists that he isn’t looking at a particular market and instead wants to grab hold of fighters who will excite the paying public.
“I have Katie Taylor and I’m not looking to go in to women’s boxing,” he continued. “I’m just looking to pick up the fighters that have the right style to entertain the crowd.
“That, for me, is her, so I feel like I’ve got to put my heart and soul into Katie Taylor.
“I think Nicola Adams is a lovely girl. She’s obviously talented, but we’ve got enough on our plate with Katie Taylor and we’ve got to balance it up.”
Meanwhile, Hearn revealed that there are “three or four” new signings to be confirmed as additions to his stable in due course, adding that “there are some Olympians we’ve been talking to.”
