Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is expecting Vitali Klitschko to retain his WBC belt later tonight, when he defends the title against ex-British beltholder Dereck Chisora in Munich, Germany. There have been negotiations for a fight between Vitali and Haye for the summer, but their discussions fell apart over the financial terms.
If Vitali were to suffer a serious injury in the ring, which took away the use of an arm or a leg, then Haye would give Chisora a shot to win.
"These guys are monsters, 6'8 or 6'9 and the grab a hold of you and put their weight on you and it's a lot of weight going through your system. It will be very tough for Chisora, but Vitali is 40-years of age. He has well documented problems with his knees. So you never know if Vitali ruptures his knee or dislocates his shoulder - [Chisora] might have a chance," Haye said.
