Welterweight prospect Frankie Gavin (11-0, 8KOs) is ready to face former world champion Junior Witter (40-5, 22KOs) in the near future. Gavin returns on Friday against French national champion Frank Haroche Horta at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester on Friday night in a defense of his WBO Intercontinental title.
The British Boxing Board of Control have ordered a final eliminator between Gavin and Witter for the British title, which champion Lee Purdy defends against Colin Lynes on November 9.
“I am confident of beating anyone in Britain, the only one who is a bit ahead of me is Kell Brook, but that’s not a fight I can never win. I have got the skill and pedigree, I just need more experience over 12 rounds and, next year, hopefully I will be challenging for world titles," Gavin told Sky Sports.
