Trainer Robert Garcia is confident that his student, Brandon Rios, can score a knock out of Timothy Bradley on November 7th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Both Rios and Bradley looked very shaky against Diego Chaves last year. Rios was losing on the scorecards when he won by disqualification over Chaves, and then Bradley went to a twelve round draw with Chaves in December.
Rios returned in January and demolished Mike Alvarado within three rounds in their trilogy bout. Many did not give Rios credit for the victory because Alvarado had a lot of issues with the law leading up to the fight and failed to properly train.
"[Rios] changed his mode of training, his diet, did everything right for the third fight with Alvarado and look at the results. And now he is doing the same thing, because he knows the importance of beating Bradley," Garcia told ESPN Deportes.
"It does not bother me that people criticize Brandon Rios, because some people will always criticize. They said he is not disciplined and has no defense but when he knocked out Alvarado he still heard criticism for it and there were no good reviews for Brandon. Now if he beats Bradley, I hope they give him credit for it and they don't tell us that [Rios won] because [Bradley] was finished. I'm hoping for a spectacular knockout victory."
