According to Colombia's Oscar Escandon, he will defend his interim junior featherweight world title of the World Boxing Association against Mexican slugger Moises Flores (22-0, 16KOs). Escandon would be making the first defense of the title he won last December 11 with a controversial decision over Canadian boxer Tyson Cave.
Escandon is unsure of the exact fight date with Flores, but says it will fall between April and May.
"It will be a hard and good fight. He brings desire to be a world champion and I have committed to defending the belt. I have seen several videos of Flores and he looks like a pretty strong and tough fighter," said Escandon. "I will get myself fully prepared to make my defense, which should be between April and May."
