Promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events has launched an invitation to slugger Artur Beterbiev (7-0, 7 KOs), to face one of the veterans of her stable, Isaac Chilemba (23-2, 10 KOs) - on the Sergey-Kovalev-Jean Pascal undercard from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
"There is a chance that it could happen and it would be a good fight," Duva told The Montreal Journal." I am also convinced that HBO would be happy to present this fight. Chilemba wanted this fight even before watching Beterbiev win against Jeff Page last Friday. He would like to have this opportunity."
However, Beterbiev's promoter Yvon Michel told the paper that his fighter is already scheduled to headline his own event in February. It would appear unlikely that Beterbiev would appear in two important fights within a span of a month and HBO has strict guidelines about boxers seeing action so close to a televised date - to avoid fights potentially falling out due to injury or a fighter being upset.
