MORE LIVE RESULTS TO COME..................
In a very dirty and tedious twelve-round fight, Andrey Klimov (17-1, 8 KOs) came down in weight and successfully outpointed Dominican Francisco Contreras (22-5, 17 KOs) to seize a vacant WBO I/C title at 130 lbs. Scores were 120-109, 120-109 and 119-110 - for Klimov.
-----------
Umar Salamov (10-0, 9 KOs) successfully retained his WBO Youth light heavyweight title with a fourth-round stoppage of brave opponent Gasan Gasanov (7-3-1, 5 KOs).
Gasanov started successfully but tired quickly, while Salamov preserved more energy fighting defensively. He then dropped his foe with a huge body shot in the fourth. Gasanov got up in pain and soon was forced to take yet another knee - this time after a combo and for the count.
-----------------------------
Hard luck fan favorite Ruslan "Tyson" Semenov (5-27-1, 3 KOs) was unfairly stopped at 1:51 of the fourth round of his fight against defending Russian cruiserweight champion Andrey Knyazev (10-1, 5 KOs) by referee Evgueny Gorstkov. The fight was virtually even at that point.
------------
Russian middleweight champion Arif Magomedov (11-0, 8 KOs) shined brightly in a three-round drubbing of fellow undefeated Columbian Alex Theran (16-1, 9 KOs). Magomedov dropped his opponent hard with a smashing right at the end of the first, then repeated this trick at the end of the third. Theran was cut, brutally beaten and discouraged at this point, choosing to retire in his corner after the third. Sophomore Magomedov is a new WBA Fedelatin middleweight champion.
-----------
Cruiserweight Ilya Rolgeyzer (3-0) scored an uneventful six-round unanimous decision over chubby Ukrainian Roman Mirzoev. The only memorable moment of the fight happened at the end of the fifth, when Rolgeyzer was placed to the canvas for a couple of minutes after a big blow below the belt line. Scores were 60-54 and 60-53 (twice) for the Russian.
-----------
Debuting light welterweight Sergey Lipinets (1-0) made a successful start to his pro career, widely outpointing veteran Venezuelan Franklin Varela (21-15, 10 KOs) over six. The latter had done just barely to survive, which included numerous low blows; for one of those he was deducted a point in round three. Scores were 60-53, 60-53 and 60-52 - for Lipinets.
