WBA cruiserweight champion and TBRB #3 rated 200lber Denis Lebedev (26-2, 20 KOs) will fight next on March 28 in Moscow, Russia, against an opponent to be named later.
“I’ve met with Mr. Ryabinskiy, and we agreed to tentatively set the March date for my next fight. I don’t know the date for sure but it’ll be within the same card with (WBC cruiserweight champion) Grigory Drozd I suppose”, commented Lebedev to Sportbox.ru.
Drozd, who acquired his belt on Sep. 27 in Moscow, Russia, with a dominating unanimous decision over long-time beltholder Krzysztof Wlodarczyk, fights on March 28.
Lebedev has fought on the same card with Drozd, and knocked out another Polish fighter Pawel Kolodziej silly, in just two rounds – after almost a year and a half off the ring. No one is named as a possible opponent for Lebedev, but Yuri Kalenga (21-1, 14 KOs), who is the WBA #1 rated contender and interim “champion”, expressed his interest in such a fight.
