Veteran boxer Danny Green (34-5, 28KOs) is to fight Germany's Konni Konrad (22-2-1, 11KOs) in December but his eye is still firmly on arch rival Anthony Mundine.
Green made a successful return to the ring after snapping a near three year layoff by picking up a win over Argentine Roberto Bolonti in August.
He announced on Thurday he will face Konrad - who last month lost to WBA "regular" light heavyweight world champion Juergen Braehmer - in Melbourne on December 2.
But the 42-year-old still wants a rematch against Mundine.
The pair last fought in 2006 when Mundine won a points decision.
"I'm ready in one corner and it's up to the other banana who's flapping his gums to step up," Green said.
The biggest issue in making a rematch is the weight, with Mundine fighting currently at junior middleweight and Green fighting around the cruiserweight limit.
