Former World Boxing Council middleweight champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., promises that he won't have any trouble with making weight for his rematch with Bryan Vera on March 1 in San Antonio, Texas. When they fought last September, Chavez won a controversial ten round unanimous decision in California. In the days leading up to the fight, Chavez struggled to make the super middleweight limit and the weight had to be increased to a near light heavyweight limit.
"Well, I'm only 12 pounds above the limit, so I should not have any problems. I have taken this rather seriously, more so than any fight in my career I'm very hungry to demonstrate the discipline that I have, the work that I've been doing in recent months. I get to show the people the other side of what they haven't seen. Obviously I want to be champion, because there has not been a Mexican who has been crowned at super middleweight," Chavez Jr. said.
The Mexican star also said there is a good possibility of adding trainer Robert Garica to his ongoing camp.
