Although undefeated junior middleweight twins Jermall and Jermell Charlo are identical down to their DNA, they have slightly different opinions on how tonight's showdown between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Miguel Cotto will unfold.
"The fight, if it goes past five or six is a Cotto fight," Jermall said. "If it doesn't, it's a Canelo fight."
Older by a minute, Jermall (23-0, 17 KOs) is scheduled to defend his IBF junior middleweight belt next weekend against Wilky Campfort (21-1. 12 KOs).
"I've got Canelo," Jermell said. "He's younger, stronger and a very smart fighter. So he's going to dictate tonight's fight. I'd say he'll stop him before six."
Ronnie Shields, who still trains Jermall but recently parted ways with Jermell, said there might not even be a winner.
"I think it's going to be a real close fight," Shields said. "I wouldn't be surprised if it's a draw."
